Proof
I didn't take this silly thing with me ( fear of clumsiness leading to breakage) so this blurry photo of an photo on Myrie's camera is all I can offer right now.

Our journey by the numbers
Here is a link to our trip:

(And here are my details if the map is too confusing)
Day 1:
14 km hiked, started in the rain ( in my awesome maid of the mist poncho) at 2720m above sea level, slept at 3300m
Day 2:
16km hiked, started in the sun, ended in miserable rain and hail ( still in awesome poncho, but brrrrrrr) climbed to Dead Woman's Pass ( 4000m) slept at 3600m. A hard day but some excellent views.
Day 3:
Halloween! 10km hiked.
3rd pass at 3680m, and slept at 2680m (with a million other porters and hikers and only 4 terrible gross bathrooms.) Myrie and I wore pirate costumes to dinner and I made many puns. Some swashbuckling good times while fighting with dinner knives.
Day 4:
Up at 330am to get to Machu Picchu before all the other tourists and get the porters on their free train at 5 am. Miracle! Gorgeous weather with enough misty clouds for ambience. Got to the Sun Gate and was again impressed with Inca skills. Had a mini tour on the grounds and ate a very tasty snickers. Went into the town below and wandered around till our train and then back in cusco around 1030ish.
